Dental and Vision

Dental and Vision insurance is an important part of keeping you—and your budget—healthy. Original Medicare nor Medicare Supplement Insurance provide dental, hearing or vision benefits. That’s where we can help!

There are separate, standalone plans for vision or dental benefits that can be used on top of a health insurance plan as a form of supplemental insurance. There are even dental and vision insurance “packages” that offer benefits for both.

Dental and vision coverage can come in two different forms.

1. Traditional

These types of vision or dental insurance plans can operate as HMOs, PPOs, or indemnity plans.

In an HMO, you’ll have a primary care physician (PCP) along with a network of physicians and dental or medical facilities approved by your insurance provider. You’ll receive your dental or vision care from those offices as directed by your PCP.

With a PPO, you are not restricted by a PCP and have some more freedom to visit physicians and facilities outside of the network.

Indemnity plans reimburse the customer for services rendered once a claim is submitted to the insurance provider.

In some traditional plan, there is a waiting period and in some traditional dental plans there is no coverage for pre-existing dental conditions.

2. Dental Savings Plans

An alternative to traditional dental insurance plans is dental savings plans, also called dental discount plans.

You pay a low one-time yearly fee for coverage. This fee grants you access to a pool of discount offers. Think of the fee as the cost of a “membership” to a club where all the members receive discounted dental or vision services. Once a plan member, you simply show your membership card when visiting any participating plan provider to receive most dental services at discounted rates.

Plan members save 10-60% on the typical cost of dental care and treatments at a nationwide network of more than 100,000 dentists.

Participating dental care providers have agreed to accept a discounted fee from plan members. As a plan member, you simply show your membership card when visiting any participating plan provider to receive most dental services at discounted fees. You pay the discounted rate directly to the dentist.

What are the benefits of a dental discount plan?

The benefits of dental savings plans include no deductibles, no co-pays, no waiting periods, no paperwork hassles, no restrictions on getting immediate treatment for pre-existing or expensive procedures, and no annual limit on how often you can use your plan to save at the dentist.

Many of our Dental Discount plans also include discounts for vision discount, hearing discount, drug discounts, telemedicine, 24/7 Nurses hotline, and emergency medical travel.
